UIMS Participates in Workshop to Strengthen Integrity and Transparency Mechanisms in Line with International Standards

Baghdad – The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS)

As part of its commitment to promoting good governance, integrity, transparency, and institutional accountability, the United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) participated in a workshop entitled “Developing Integrity and Transparency Mechanisms: Reporting and Strategies in Line with International Standards.” The workshop was organized by the Federal Commission of Integrity – Department of Relations with Non-Governmental Organizations, in cooperation with the Horizon Organization for Human Development, at the Department’s headquarters in Baghdad.

UIMS’s participation reflects its commitment to keeping pace with modern approaches to institutional development, fostering a culture of integrity and transparency, and strengthening the principles of sound governance in humanitarian and development work, in alignment with international standards and best institutional practices.

The Society emphasizes the importance of building the capacities of civil society organizations in report preparation, strategy development, and strengthening accountability mechanisms. These are essential pillars for improving organizational performance, safeguarding resources, and reinforcing the trust of communities, partners, and donors in non-governmental organizations.

UIMS also views integrity and transparency as institutional responsibilities that go beyond compliance with administrative procedures. They form the foundation for ensuring that resources and assistance reach those who need them and for achieving measurable and sustainable humanitarian and development impact.

Through its participation in this workshop, UIMS reaffirms its commitment to continuously improving its institutional systems and strengthening cooperation with oversight bodies, government institutions, and civil society organizations in support of a working environment characterized by efficiency, credibility, and accountability.
