UIMS Holds Awareness Seminar at Tikrit Teaching Hospital on the Importance of Infant Incubators as Part of the “Their Heartbeats, Our Hope” Project
As part of its ongoing efforts to support the health sector and raise awareness of the importance of care for premature and newborn infants, the United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) held an awareness seminar at Tikrit Teaching Hospital as part of the activities of its humanitarian and health project, “Their Heartbeats, Our Hope.”
The seminar was attended by a number of hospital staff and opened with an introduction to UIMS, its humanitarian, health, and development mission, and an overview of its key services and programs supporting healthcare institutions and the most vulnerable groups. The session also introduced the objectives of the “Their Heartbeats, Our Hope” project and its importance in supporting care services for premature and newborn infants.
The seminar included an explanation of the importance of infant incubators and the role they play in providing an appropriate care environment for infants who require specialized care after birth, as well as the impact of having these devices available on strengthening the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
To strengthen the scientific component of the seminar, a pediatrician from Tikrit Teaching Hospital delivered a medical presentation on the importance of incubators in caring for premature and newborn infants and their role within the medical care system provided to this group.
The seminar also provided an opportunity for interaction and information exchange with hospital staff, contributing to strengthening the educational and scientific aspects of the activity and linking the objectives of the project with the actual needs of healthcare institutions.
Participants welcomed the initiative and the awareness activity, emphasizing the importance of programs that contribute to enhancing knowledge, supporting the capacities of healthcare institutions, and improving the quality of services provided to children.
This seminar is part of a series of activities implemented by UIMS under the “Their Heartbeats, Our Hope” project, reaffirming that supporting the care of premature and newborn infants extends beyond providing medical equipment to include knowledge-sharing, promoting the proper use of medical devices, and maintaining direct engagement with healthcare professionals, thereby contributing to a more sustainable health impact.
