The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) Organizes Workshop at Azadi Teaching Hospital in Kirkuk to Strengthen Health Partnerships and Support the “Their Pulse is Our Hope” Project

As part of its efforts to strengthen partnerships with government healthcare institutions and improve the quality of medical services in Iraq, The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) organized a specialized workshop at Azadi Teaching Hospital in Kirkuk Governorate.

During the workshop, the Society presented its experience in implementing health, humanitarian, relief, and development programs across various governorates of Iraq, highlighting its key projects in Kirkuk and its role in supporting healthcare institutions by providing medical equipment and supplies, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of services provided to citizens.

The workshop also featured an announcement regarding the upcoming arrival of 10 modern infant incubators at Azadi Teaching Hospital. The importance of promoting a culture of giving and social responsibility was also highlighted. The Society presented information on sustainable donation mechanisms through the Super Qi App Taburat platform, emphasizing that regular contributions, regardless of their amount, can provide a sustainable source of support for humanitarian and healthcare projects, particularly the national “Their Pulse is Our Hope” project.

The project aims to equip government hospitals with infant incubators for premature and newborn babies and has received significant engagement and contributions from members of the community, the public and private sectors, as well as supporters from inside and outside Iraq.

The Society also listened to the needs and recommendations of the hospital’s medical and technical staff. Discussions focused on developing maintenance and technical support services for medical equipment, particularly infant incubators, strengthening continuous training programs, and providing the necessary supplies and consumable materials required for medical equipment. These efforts aim to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of healthcare services.

The workshop also included proposals to develop mechanisms for supporting hospitals through the establishment of a specialized system for providing spare parts and replacement materials for medical equipment. Such a system would help reduce equipment downtime resulting from delays in maintenance procedures and the availability of spare parts.

At the conclusion of the workshop, The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) emphasized that all the observations and recommendations presented during the workshop represent important indicators for the development of its future programs. The Society reaffirmed its commitment to building effective partnerships with healthcare institutions across Iraq and implementing impactful initiatives that support medical equipment, develop healthcare personnel, and strengthen maintenance services in line with best practices, ultimately contributing to the improvement of healthcare services provided to citizens throughout Iraq.
