His Excellency Dr. Saman Hussein Barzinji, Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government, received Dr. Ahmed Mushrif Al-Hiti, President of the United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS), to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in implementing a number of leading health and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to enhancing the quality of health services provided to citizens in the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting included discussions on mechanisms to support and implement three of the Society’s most prominent projects: *“Their Pulse is Our Hope”, which aims to equip hospitals with incubators for premature and newborn infants; *“Pride of Hope”*, which is concerned with providing wheelchairs and assistive devices for persons with disabilities and humanitarian cases; and *“The White Hand”**, which aims to provide humanitarian and medical support to the most vulnerable groups.

Both sides emphasized the importance of unifying efforts between government institutions and civil society organizations to enhance the response to health and humanitarian needs and expand qualitative initiatives that contribute to improving services provided to citizens, particularly the most vulnerable groups.

The meeting also resulted in an agreement to proceed towards signing a joint cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development, establishing a strategic partnership for implementing these projects and expanding their scope in a manner consistent with health and humanitarian priorities while strengthening integration between governmental and community efforts.

The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development confirms that this step represents an important milestone in the journey of its national partnerships and reflects its commitment to continuing the implementation of sustainable health and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to supporting the health sector, improving quality of life, strengthening the values of solidarity, and serving people throughout Iraq
