United Iraqi Medical Society Participates in the Women and Economic Development Forum

The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) participated in the Women and Economic Development Forum, which was held at Gilgamesh Hall in the Babylon Hotel. The event was jointly organized by the Women Empowerment Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI), and Dar Al-Hikma for Training and Consulting, with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The forum brought together a distinguished group of government leaders and experts, led by Dr. Yusra Al-Alaq, Director General of the Women Empowerment Department. During the event, participants reviewed the key features of the National Social Security Platform and its role in promoting social inclusion and facilitating access to services for eligible beneficiaries.

UIMS’ participation reflects its belief in the importance of supporting national initiatives that promote economic empowerment, strengthen social protection principles, and contribute to building effective partnerships among government institutions, the banking sector, civil society organizations, and international partners. Such partnerships play a vital role in achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing economic participation opportunities for various groups, particularly women.

The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development reaffirmed its commitment to actively engaging in national forums and development programs that strengthen its role as a national partner in supporting humanitarian, health, and development initiatives, while contributing to the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable society.
