United Iraqi Medical Society Participates in the World Population Day Celebration
The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) participated in the official celebration of World Population Day, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Planning and with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The event was attended by a wide range of government institutions, UN agencies, international organizations, civil society organizations, and experts and specialists in the fields of population and development.
The event witnessed high-level participation, including representatives from the Ministry of Planning and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), along with a number of officials, decision-makers, development partners, and stakeholders. Discussions focused on key challenges and opportunities related to population issues, the importance of utilizing population data and indicators in shaping public policies, strengthening development planning, and investing in human capital to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The participation of the United Iraqi Medical Society reflects its active role in supporting development programs and its belief in the importance of strengthening national and international partnerships aimed at raising community awareness of population and development issues.
The Society emphasized that population issues represent one of the key pillars of achieving sustainable development, and that investing in people, enhancing access to healthcare services, and expanding partnerships among government institutions, international organizations, and civil society organizations are fundamental to building a more stable and prosperous society.
The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development reaffirms its commitment to continuing cooperation with its national and international partners, particularly the Ministry of Planning and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in supporting national initiatives, strengthening population and health indicators, and contributing to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in Iraq.
