The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development Signs Implementation Agreement for a Social Security Awareness Campaign with Support from the International Labour Organization

▪ Today, the United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) signed an official agreement to implement a large-scale community awareness campaign on the social security system in Iraq, funded by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

▪ The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the importance of social security and the rights of workers under the system, with a special focus on marginalized groups such as informal sector workers, returnees, youth, and persons with disabilities. The activities will be carried out in the governorates of Baghdad, Anbar, and Diyala, particularly in urban, agricultural, and returnee communities.

▪ The campaign will run until 11th February 2026 and will include phases of planning, production, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, following a precise timeline.

▪ In its statement, UIMS emphasized that this initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening the social protection system and enhancing community awareness about the importance of social security, particularly amid the economic and social challenges facing many citizens.
