Specialized Training to Enhance the Mental and Social Health of Returnees from Europe within the National Referral Program

Baghdad 2025
As part of the National Referral Program, specialized training on peer education in mental and social health was conducted in April. Twenty-seven beneficiaries who had returned from European Union countries participated in the training, which took place at the National Case Office of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.
The training aimed to empower participants to share knowledge with their peers within the community, enhance their mental and social awareness, and collect and record participant data to ensure they are connected with appropriate support, follow-up, and referral services within a comprehensive protection system that supports the reintegration process.
This activity is part of ongoing efforts to provide a supportive environment for returnees, placing mental health at the heart of humanitarian and social response policies in Iraq.
